I am glad to say we had a busy week this week, and I am even happier to say that we have an even busier week ahead of us. Elder Young finally got over his illness and we have been keeping busy. The snow finally all melted, but the rain and cold and ill-tempered locals insist on making tracting unpleasant. That's OK I am just happy to be able to go out and work again, and most of them are not that ill-tempered. Our members here are really working hard to support us and I was really impressed with the way they rallied behind us this Sunday, they filled up our schedule and gave us a busy week. We are being taken care of quite well. Thank you for all your prayers on my part; surely they have been answered this week.Love Elder Jose

I remember us having two good work days this last week. Elder Young was sick for the rest of it. Poor guy just couldn't keep food down. Anyway, those two days were awesome we have been marooned in our apartment for so long I was starting to worry we'd never get out. Yesterday the Bishop took us to see a less-active family he knew. They are a wonderful family, but man were they country, they lived up in this old howler in an old house that looked like it had been jimmy-rigged one too many times. When we got in the house the walls were covered in guns, and after the lesson they had to show us their new black powder rifle (it was pretty sweet). I am really excited for the upcoming week. I have got to get out and do some good old missionary work. Being cooped up is killing us.

Oh man! Well yesterday was the first day that we drove in a while. On Sunday it cleared up enough for us to drive safely. We went all the way down to Johnson City to spend P-day with some other elders, but by the time we got back it was too late to e-mail. Well, last night it decided to snow again and we are once again GROUNDED. We walked up to the library to e-mail you guys. We have been kind of stuck this past week, unable to do much proselytizing. So a lot of our time was spent either walking around our small town of Wise or in our apartment trying to stay warm. It hasn't been too exciting. Snow is good for lots of things; mission work isn't one of those things.Love you guys. Thanks for your e-mails.

It has been Super Cold this past week (20 degrees being the average high), and I am not sure, but the way Dad was talking, we may have more snow here than you do there. There has been a constant slow flurry of extra fine snow since about last Tuesday. Fortunately we have a good heater in our apartment; however our car has been grounded because of the weather so we have had some cold walks. It hasn't been all bad. Last p-day I built a sled out of duct tape and cardboard. That thing is like a rocket ship, pretty amazing. Those are the highlights from my week, sorry I don't have much to report but places like this tend to shut down when weather like this comes along.I love you guys and hope you have an awesome year without me.Elder Jose.P.S. This is what missionaries call "The Black Year" or one full year that the missionary doesn't see home. Wish me good luck!
